Mediterranean Seaside is the name of the new Güell-Lamadrid collection designed in collaboration with the multifaceted designer Klas Kall, owner of the impressive “Lifestyles store” Rialto Living located in Palma de Mallorca.
This collection is inspired by a series of unique places in Mallorca, in which Klas Kall has managed to capture the shapes, colors and textures that he himself perceives of the island in a very unique way.
The colors in which the collection is made range from the brown and red earth to the blue and green of nature, also including neutral tones. A wide range of colors that reflect the extraordinary natural wealth that the island of Mallorca offers us: rock, mountain, sand and sea.
Belver Floral: Floral design printed on a viscose-linen base with a very resistant quality that makes it ideal for upholstery use. Available in 4 colors.
La Calobra Rocks: Original fabric with design printed on a viscose-linen base inspired by the characteristic rocks that we can find in the coves of the island of Mallorca. It is presented in 5 different colors.
Orient Road Stripe: The curves and roads that cross the island of Mallorca have been a source of inspiration to create this fun design of lines printed on a linen-cotton blend. Available in 5 colors.
Cuevas de Arta: Fabric printed on a linen-cotton base with design inspired by the organic forms of the impressive Arta Caves located in the northeast of the Balearic island. We present it in 4 colors.
Puerto Pollensa Waves: Design of organic forms inspired by the waves of Puerto de Pollensa, stamped on Co/Li base. Available in 4 colors.
Cala Figuera Stripe: Striped fabric in 100% cotton, fresh and timeless. Available in 4 colors.
Taller Sert, the dreamt studio
of Joan Miró in Mallorca
The colors of the Mediterranean Seashore collection and its combination of design and naturalness remind us of the Sert Workshop at Fundació Miró Mallorca, the creative studio of Joan Miró when he decided to settle in Mallorca in 1956. The project was made by Josep Lluís Sert, renowned architect and friend of Miró, representative of the Modern Movement in Architecture and, at that time, dean of the Graduate School of Design of Harvard University.

“Architecture itself can become a sculptural piece”

The Sert Workshop is all about contrapositions. Tradition and innovation. The cold concrete structure contrasts with the warmth of the more traditional materials, typical of the Mediterranean, such as stone or clay. The angular L-shaped plant is combined with a beautiful vaulted ceiling. The waves of the roof introduce a sinuous movement in the regular structure of the building. And the south facade juxtaposes the white of the concrete to the color of the clay and to the blue, red and yellow of the carpentry.
With this wonderful workshop, Josep Lluís Sert opens a new language that overcomes the rigidity and limitations of the most orthodox functionalism and is committed to a more plastic and sculptural architecture.

Joan Miró was delighted with the result. It was his workshop for many years and has become a representative building in Mallorca and has been declared of cultural interest (BIC).
